Petur Jonsson in Reykjahlid inherited Joabrædur. Petur gave Héðin Sverrisson inherited the farm Geiteierströnd 1 for a wedding present. Héðin chose to build a new house for his family at a small pond north of Geiteyarstrønd 4. He chose to keep the farm name Geiteeyjarströnd 1 at his new house. Héðin Sverrisson sold the old house to Sigurgjörn Sörenson (Bjøssi) and Hildur Jonsdóttir (Hilla) in the 70s. The name of the house was then changed to Geiteyjarströnd 4. Helgi Héðinsson (son of Héðin) now runs Dimmuborgir guesthouse . Geiteyarströnd 2 and 3 are names on the farm on the south side of Geiteyjarströnd 4. which is today run by 1 sister and 2 brothers.
